The CABOCES Tech Coordinators and Integrator’s Forum (TCIF) invited Señora Edwards from Hinsdale Central School to show some of the tech resources she uses with her Spanish and French classes. The TCIF meeting was at The Barn Professional Learning Training Center on Windfall Road in Olean.
Señora Edwards started off by explaining this was her first year at Hinsdale after teaching at Genesee Valley and then staying at home with her family for seven years. One of the ideas she showed were with her students’ recordings in programs like Voicethread. With Voicethread, Señora Edwards can post a picture to gather a students’ idea on a topic that the student can then record their voice and it will save online with the picture she posted to create a digital story. Señora Edwards shared other sites like Lingt.com and some free interactive resources that teachers can download from Triptico to help engage students.
Near the end of the presentation Señora Edwards shared how she’s used the iPevo camera that she received through a Teacher Center grant in her class. The iPevo camera gives her the ability to take quick pictures of items to get them projected up on her board. From students work to pictures from her iPad, it’s enabled all of her students to see what’s going on in class. Señora Edwards has also been able to connect with other educators in Pinterest to share visual boards and online resources and ideas. She connected with Señora Finn and other teachers at Allegany-Limestone during a staff development day and follows other other Foreign Language teachers around the world online with Pinterest!
Muy excelenta Señora Edwards.
